DTC P2288 / P2289
Precautions: General safety (00)
DTC Detecting Condition and Trouble Area
| DTC detecting condition | Trouble area |
|---|---|
P2288: Injector Control Pressure Too High Measured fuel pressure in common rail is higher than specified value. (1 D/C detection logic) |
•Lack of fuel
•Fuel pressure sensor and/or its circuit •Fuel flow actuator and/or its circuit •Low fuel pressure circuit (fuel pressure regulator in fuel pump, fuel pump and/or its circuit, fuel hose, fuel pipe) •High fuel pressure circuit (high pressure pump, common rail, high pressure pipe, fuel injector) •ECM |
P2289: Injector Control Pressure Too High – Engine Off Measured fuel pressure in common rail is higher than specified value when engine is stopped. (1 D/C detection logic) |

DTC Troubleshooting
| Step | Action | Yes | No |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 |
Was “Engine and Emission Control System Check” performed?
Go to Step 2.
| 2 |
Fuel level check
1)Check fuel level by fuel gauge.
Does fuel gauge indicate “E” level (empty)?
Add fuel and recheck DTC.
Go to Step 3.
| 3 |
Fuel pressure sensor power supply circuit, signal circuit and ground circuit check
1)Check “B1”, “B2” and “B3” circuits according to Step 3 – 6 of Fuel Pressure Sensor Circuit Check:D16AA.
Is check result OK?
Go to Step 4.
Repair or replace defective wire harness.
| 4 |
Fuel flow actuator power supply circuit and drive circuit check
1)Check “A1” and “A2” circuits according to Step 1 of Fuel Flow Actuator Operation Check:D16AA.
Is check result OK?
Go to Step 5.
Repair or replace defective wire harness.
| 5 |
Low fuel pressure circuit check
Is check result OK?
Go to Step 6.
Repair or replace defective part(s).
| 6 |
High fuel pressure circuit check
Is check result OK?
Go to Step 7.
Repair or replace defective part(s).
| 7 |
Fuel flow actuator check
Is check result OK?
