Oil Pump Removal and Installation

Removal

1)Remove engine assembly.

2)Disconnect transaxle from engine.

•M/T model:

•Twin clutch system model:

3)Remove timing belt.

4)Remove crankshaft timing belt pulley as follows.

a)Lock flywheel using special tool.

Special Tool

(A): 09914–17930

b)Loosen crankshaft timing belt pulley bolt, and remove crankshaft timing belt pulley (1).

NOTE:

Turn crankshaft timing belt pulley bolt clockwise to loosen it.

c)Remove special tool (A).

5)Remove oil pan.

6)Remove oil pump (1) and gasket.

7)Remove crankshaft front oil seal from oil pump.

Installation

1)Remove oil and dust from mating surfaces of oil pump, cylinder block and oil pan.

2)Install oil pump with new gasket, and then tighten new oil pump bolts to specified torque.

Tightening torque

Oil pump bolt: 9.0 N·m (0.92 kgf-m, 7.0 lbf-ft)

3)Using special tool, lock flywheel (1).

Special Tool

(A): 09914–17930

4)Install crankshaft front oil seal as follows.

a)Fit new crankshaft front oil seal to special tool.

Special Tool

(A): 09911–97920

b)Install crankshaft front oil seal (1) with special tool (A) and crankshaft pulley washer (2).

c)Tighten crankshaft timing belt pulley bolt (3), until special tool (A) contacts with oil pump.

NOTE:

Turn crankshaft timing belt pulley bolt counterclockwise to tighten it.

d)Remove special tool and crankshaft pulley washer.

5)Install crankshaft timing belt pulley (1), and tighten crankshaft timing belt pulley bolt.

NOTE:

Turn crankshaft timing belt pulley bolt counterclockwise to tighten it.

Tightening torque

Crankshaft timing belt pulley bolt (a): 340 N·m (34.7 kgf-m, 251.0 lbf-ft)

6)Remove special tool from cylinder block.

7)Install oil pan.

8)Install timing belt.

9)Connect transaxle to engine.

10)Install engine assembly.
