Radiator Removal and Installation

Removal

1)Disconnect negative (–) cable at battery.

2)Drain coolant.

3)Remove intercooler.

4)Disconnect radiator outlet hose (1), radiator inlet hose (2) and degassing tank outlet No.2 hose (3) from radiator.

5)Remove A/C pipe bracket bolt (4).

6)Disconnect connectors of radiator cooling fan.

7)Remove sensor bracket from radiator cooling fan.

8)Remove front bumper lower absorber.

9)Support radiator support member (1) with jack (2).

10)Using a rope, hold A/C condenser in the position.

11)Remove condenser mounting bolts.

12)Remove radiator support member bolts (3).

13)Leaving A/C condenser in the position, lower radiator support member, radiator assembly and radiator cooling fan with jack.

NOTE:

When lowering jack, push radiator down to disconnect the radiator from the radiator support upper mountings.

14)Remove radiator assembly and radiator cooling fan from radiator support member.

15)Remove radiator cooling fan.

Installation

Reverse removal procedure noting the following points.

•Tighten radiator support member bolts (1) to specified torque.

Tightening torque

Radiator support member bolt (a): 59 N·m (6.0 kgf-m, 43.5 lbf-ft)

•Install each hose aligning matchmark or notch on hose with matchmark or protrusion on pipe and then install each clamp in proper position.
•Refill cooling system.

•Check each hose for leakage.
