Generator Symptom Diagnosis

Trouble in charging system will show up as one or more of the following conditions.
Charging Warning Light Operation
NOTE:
When ENG A-STOP system stops engine in normal condition, charge warning light does not light up.
Check “Charge Light” in Scan Tool Data to identify easily most possible cause of trouble. “Charge Light” indicates command signal of charge warning light from ECM to combination meter.

Charge warning light does not light with ignition “ON” and engine off
Blown fuse
Replace fuse.
Faulty combination meter
Replace combination meter. icon 
Faulty ECM
Check ECM. icon 
Faulty CAN communication line
Repair or replace CAN communication line. icon

Repair or replace wiring.
Faulty IC regulator or field coil
Repair or replace generator. icon 
Charge warning light does not go out with engine running (battery requires frequent recharging)
