Parking Brake Cable Removal and Installation

Removal
1)Remove floor console rear box. 
2)Release parking brake.
3)Loosen parking brake adjusting nut (1) until parking brake cable becomes free of tension.
4)Detach parking brake cable (2) from equalizer (3).
5)Disconnect parking brake cable from rear brake caliper.
6)For petrol model, remove heat insulator.
7)Remove parking brake cable from vehicle.
NOTE:
If it is necessary to remove both right and left parking brake cables, repeat the above steps.
Installation
Reverse removal procedure noting the following points.
•Check that parking brake cable end is installed to equalizer and lever securely.
•Install E-ring (1) to hold parking brake cable (2) and then tighten parking brake cable clamp bolt (3).
•Tighten each bolt and nut to specified torque.
•Adjust parking brake cable.
•After completion of the installation and adjustment of parking brake lever stroke, check that brake system operates properly.
•Install E-ring (1) to hold parking brake cable (2) and then tighten parking brake cable clamp bolt (3).
NOTICE:
Tightening parking brake cable clamp bolt before installing E-ring may cause brake dragging.
Tighten parking brake cable clamp bolt after installing E-ring.
•Adjust parking brake cable.
•After completion of the installation and adjustment of parking brake lever stroke, check that brake system operates properly.
