Parking Unit Removal and Installation

Removal

1)Disconnect negative (–) cable at battery.

2)Drain transaxle oil.

3)Remove air cleaner assembly.

4)Disconnect parking position sensor connector (1).

5)Remove parking cable and parking lock shaft arm.

6)Remove parking position sensor bolts (1) and remove parking position sensor (2).

7)Remove oil pan bolts (1) and remove oil pan (2).

8)Remove parking unit bolts (1) and remove parking unit (2) from transaxle (3).

9)Remove parking unit bushing if necessary.

Installation

1)Install parking unit bushing if removed.

2)Install parking unit (1) to transaxle case (2) and tighten parking unit bolts (3) to specified torque.

Tightening torque

Parking unit bolt (a): 26 N·m (2.7 kgf-m, 19.5 lbf-ft)

3)Install new oil pan (1) and tighten new oil pan bolts (2) to specified torque.

NOTICE:

The oil pan bolt is pre-coated with adhesive. If the bolt is reused, they may work loose.

Use new oil pan bolt.

Tightening torque

Oil pan bolt (a): 10 N·m (1.0 kgf-m, 7.5 lbf-ft)

4)Install parking position sensor (1) and tighten parking position sensor bolts (2) to specified torque.

Tightening torque

Parking position sensor bolt (a): 11 N·m (1.1 kgf-m, 8.5 lbf-ft)

5)Connect parking position sensor connector.

6)Install parking cable and manual select lever.

7)Install air cleaner assembly.
