Front Seat Belt Assembly Removal and Installation

WARNING:
Failure to take proper precautions when servicing seat belt pretensioner may result in personal injury.
•Do not disassemble or repair seat belt components. If any abnormalities are found, replace the seat belt components with a new replacement set.
•Before servicing the seat belt, read Precautions for Service and Diagnosis of Seat Belt and follow all the instructions provided.

Removal
NOTE:
Refer to Repair and Inspection Required after Accident before replacing an activated pretensioner.
1)Disconnect negative (–) cable at battery.
2)Disable air bag system.

3)Remove center pillar lower trim.
4)Disconnect connector (1) from seat belt pretensioner (2) as shown in figure.
a)Release lock button (3).
b)Disconnect connector.
5)Remove shoulder adjuster cover.
6)Remove screw and bolts of front seat belt assembly and then remove front seat belt assembly.
Installation
Reverse removal procedure noting the following points.
•Check that pins (3) on body panel are inserted in oblong holes (2) on seat belt pretensioner (1).
•Tighten bolts and screw of front seat belt assembly in numerical order to specified torque.
•Connect connector (2) to seat belt pretensioner (1) as follows.
•Connect connector (2) to seat belt pretensioner (1) as follows.
a.Connect connector to seat belt pretensioner with lock button (3) released.
b.Press lock button to lock connector securely.
•Enable air bag system. b.Press lock button to lock connector securely.
