Cylinder Head Cover Removal and Installation
Precautions: General safety (00)
Removal
1)Disconnect negative (–) cable at battery.
5)Disconnect engine harness clamps (1), if necessary.
6)Remove engine harness bracket bolts (2).
7)Remove oil level gauge (3).
9)Loosen cylinder head cover bolts No.1 (1) and No.2 (2) in numerical order (“1” – “14”) evenly and gradually.
10)Remove cylinder head cover with cylinder head cover gasket.
Installation
1)Remove oil, old sealant and dust from sealing surfaces on cylinder head and cover.
4)Install cylinder head cover to cylinder head.
NOTE:
When installing cylinder head cover, use care so that cylinder head cover gasket will not get out of place or fall off.
5)Tighten cylinder head cover bolts No.1 and No.2 according to the following procedure.
b)Tighten cylinder head cover bolts No.1 and No.2 to 5.0 N·m (0.51 kgf-m, 4.0 lbf-ft) in numerical order (“1” – “14”) evenly and gradually.
c)Retighten cylinder head cover bolts No.2 to 10 N·m (1.0 kgf-m, 7.5 lbf-ft) and cylinder head cover bolts No.1 to 7.5 N·m (0.76 kgf-m, 5.5 lbf-ft) in the same manner as in Step b).
6)Connect breather hose (4) to cylinder head cover.
7)Install oil level gauge (3).
8)Tighten engine harness bracket bolts (2).
13)Connect negative (–) cable at battery.
