DTC detecting condition	Trouble area
P1645: ID Code Communication Error Communication error with ID controller.	•CAN communication circuit •ID controller and/or its circuit •ECM •Keyless start control module
P1646: ID Code Incorrectness CAN communication error or verification error between ECM and ID controller.

DTC Troubleshooting

Step	Action	Yes	No
1	DTC check 1)Set ignition “OFF” and leave ignition “OFF” for 5 seconds or more. 2)Set ignition “ON”. 3)Recheck DTC. Is current DTC P1645 or P1646 detected?	Go to Step 2.	Check for intermittent trouble.
2	DTC check 1)Check DTC related to CAN communication. Is there any CAN-DTC(s) detected?	Go to troubleshooting for applicable DTC.	Go to Step 3.
3	ID controller power supply and ground circuit check 1)Check power supply and ground circuits of ID controller for open circuit, short circuit and high resistance. Is check result OK?	Go to Step 4.	Repair or replace defective parts.
4	CAN communication circuit check 1)Check CAN communication circuit referring to “Troubleshooting for Communication Bus Off” in Section 10H. •M16A model: •K14C model: •D16AA model: Is check result OK?	Go to Step 5.	Repair or replace defective wire harness.
5	ECM registration 1)Perform ECM Registration:Keyless Push Start Model. 2)Check that ignition is “OFF”. 3)Set ignition “ON”. 4)Recheck DTC. Is DTC P1645 or P1646 still detected?	Replace ECM and recheck DTC. If DTC P1645 or P1646 is still detected, replace keyless start control module and recheck DTC. •ECM: —M16A model: —K14C model: —D16AA model: •Keyless start control module:	End.
