Instrument Panel Removal and Installation

Removal
2)Disconnect negative (–) cable at battery.
4)Remove steering column hole cover (1) and driver inside lower cover (2) (if equipped).
CAUTION:
If steering column hole cover and driver inside lower cover are reused when installing knee air bag, the knee air bag function could be affected or the covers broke into pieces at the time of deployment.
Replace steering column hole cover and driver inside lower cover with new ones once they are removed.
10)Remove gear shift lever (M/T model) or select lever (A/T model / Twin clutch system model).
12)For non-A/C model and manual A/C model, disconnect instrument panel harness connectors, clamps, temperature control cable and airflow control cable from HVAC unit.
For auto A/C model, disconnect instrument panel harness connectors, clamps and inside air temperature sensor aspirator hose from HVAC unit.
For auto A/C model, disconnect instrument panel harness connectors, clamps and inside air temperature sensor aspirator hose from HVAC unit.
18)Remove steering support member bolts (1).
19)Check that there is no harness or ground wire connected between instrument panel and vehicle while slightly raising and supporting instrument panel (2).
20)Remove instrument panel, steering support member and instrument panel harness as assembly.
Installation
Reverse removal procedure noting the following points.
If steering column hole cover and driver inside lower cover are reused when installing knee air bag, the knee air bag function could be affected or the covers broke into pieces at the time of deployment.
Replace steering column hole cover and driver inside lower cover with new ones once they are removed.
